How to select a location for a family photo session

TIP #1: Is there a place that is special to you and your family? Is there a park you and your children go to often or beach that you vacation at every year? When you hang these photos on the wall, you want it to be a place that you can look back on and have good memories of.

TIP #2: Think about the background. Are there different places at your location to offer a variety of backgrounds? If it’s a park, is there greenery, flowers, perhaps a boardwalk? If you’ve selected the beach as your location, choose a less busy time to have fewer distractions in your background. The last hour of sunlight not only offers golden light that will photograph well, but it’s also less busy at just about every location.

TIP #3: Think about accessibility and convenience. Is there anyone in your family with mobility issues? If so, you’ll want to select a location where your family won’t have to walk very far or climb stairs. If your littles need a bathroom, is there one close by? If you’re thinking about a park, are there closing hours we need to be aware of?
